Report 3: From Segu to Mopti and Bandiagara

FRENCH SUDAN (MALI)   In November 1937, Madame Savineau was still on tour in the French Sudan. In this report she recounts her meetings with former pupils of the 'Terrasson de Fougères' school in Bamako who, after graduating, became African employees in the French colonial administration. She was particularly interested in how much they were earning, and whether their lifestyles were now 'westernised'. She continued her tour to Markala, then visited Kokry, Segu, Koutiala, San, Djenné, Bandiagara, Sangha, arriving finally in Mopti on 22 November 1937.
